A Deep Blue Rumble is an homage to the culture, wisdom, and history of the Nihang Sikhs; an austere portrait of their enduring cultural significance in the contemporary world.
originally shot for Artlist as part of a footage repository, we later crafted an original track and put together an edit that aimed to capture a vivid and powerful portrait of a clan, with its young, the elderly, their cavalry, and their extraordinary arsenal of talents and weaponry.
with the knowledge that monumental and beautiful films like Erik Morales's 'Immortals' already loomed heavily over our moodboards, we set out to also apply our personal tastes and palletes as aesthetic chroniclers.
and in an effort to remain honest to the subject, the soundtrack also features a sample of Sikh scholar performing on the sarangi. more than a visual document, the film stands as a cinematic tribute to a living-breathing-sword brandishing tradition, honoring a community whose spirit, discipline, and legacy continue to resonate across generations.
